Product Description:

R218 is Rutile Titanium Dioxide pigment manufactured by the sulfate process and supplied as a fine, dry powder, which is inorganic coated with Al2O3&SiO2 and special organic surface treated to have both good optical properties and excellent pigment properties. With advanced control technology of particle-size and particular coating technology, the product shows good whiteness, high gloss, great hiding power, strong tinting power, favorable weatherability, high chalk resistance, low oil absorption, good wetting and is easy to disperse in a variety of systems.

During recent decades, TiO2 powders have begun to appear in many applications, mainly due to their ability to confer whiteness and opacity on various products, such as paints, papers and cosmetics. Its high technological attractiveness originates from its light-scattering properties and very high refractive index, which mean that relatively low levels of the pigment are required to achieve a white, opaque coating. The range of light that is scattered depends on the particle size. Numerous technological improvements, based on nano-sized TiO2, have been introduced that enable its use for antifogging and self-cleaning coatings on glass, for building facades, in confectionary, in the plastics industry, and so on. Furthermore, TiO2 is accepted as a food and pharmaceutical additive.5 In the United States it is included in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Inactive Ingredients Guide for dental paste, oral capsules, suspensions, tablets, dermal preparations and in non-parenteral medicines.

Applications:

Rutile Titanium Dioxide pigment R218 is general purpose product, widely used in industries including indoor&outdoor coatings, interior and exterior latex paints, industrial coatings, powder coatings, road sign paint, anti-corrosive paint, antifouling paint, marine paint. The product can also be used in plastics (PVC, PE, polystyrene and polyurethane etc.), masterbatch, rubber, printing ink, leather, paper making and decoration paper, etc..

Storage and Safety:
